Make Fashion Last
The fashion industry is one of the largest polluters in the world. Water pollution, toxic chemicals, textile waste, greenhouse gas emissions, soil degradation, and rainforest degradation are some of the environmental impacts of this industry, as well as other social issues. The release of harmful plastic microfibers from clothes is just the latest addition to the list.
Over the past few years, the fashion industry has continuously ignored plastic microfiber shedding from the clothes they produce by delaying action and distracting attention from this problem. The fashion industry must be accountable for the clothes they manufacture and put out in the market and make sure they are safe for the health of the environment and our own.
